“Formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing” – Similar to the rhetorical element “stance” this course learning outcome has to do with your position on your topic. This course learning outcome would tell me to come up with, and stand behind my point of view on a topic at all times when writing. By doing so, it would help strengthen my documents and papers more.
An example of this course learning outcome would be the memo assignment. In my memo assignment my topic was to “Improve the layout of the NAC building” on campus. My stance was to have the NAC building follow a more organized and conventional layout for each floor. I wanted each floor to have a better way of navigation when looking for a classroom (see figure 1). This would obviously be something I would backup the entire memo because the memo was directed to the head of CCNY Facilities Planning.
