An Engineering Proposal is a document where engineers write to someone offering to conduct an experiment or research. As the engineer writes to whomever they are writing to, they’re doing their best job to convince their audience why their work is important and valuable. The engineer will also go into detail on why their project needs to be done and that they are the qualified engineer for the job. All engineering proposals start with an introduction section. This section contains the problem the engineer is going to solve, the background to the problem, what the engineer needs, and the objective of the project. After that follows the technical approach section of the engineering proposal. This section contains the requirements your project needs and the design of your solution. After that short section is the quality assurance plan section. This section talks about the risks and how to mitigate them, as well as project testing and expectations. Following that is the qualification and scheduling sections which talk about the qualifications of the engineers and the schedule of the project. The final two sections are the budgeting section which talks about the projects budget and the conclusion section, which wraps up the entire project.
