Memo

Memos are documents that are most commonly used by companies to communicate an issue, a report, a proposal, or a decision to someone who isn’t physically involved or present. A memo must be brief and concise, as to give the reader all the information as quickly and clearly as possible. The memo is comprised of two parts which are known as the heading, and the body. Key information such as who is writing, who will be reading, the date, and the subject matter is all present in the heading. The body contains an: opening segment, task segment, summary segment, discussion segment, and closing segment. The opening segment focuses on explaining the situation briefly. The task segment is in charge of persuading and describing the possible solutions you have. The summary segment contains a brief statement of recommendations. The discussion segment is where you include information that supports your solution and idea. Finally, the closing segment is where you talk about the actions you want your reader to take into action after reading your memo.
