This semester we were the first class of students to participate in an assignment to create a PSA that would be shown on campus. This PSA would have to highlight an internship opportunity relating to an issue in the CCNY community or the neighborhood community. This project would be a presentation done on either google slides, or canva with canva being preferred. Before creating a PSA each group had to come up with an appropriate internship that related to our majors. After the idea was approved by the professor, each group would start researching and putting to ether slides based off the internship company and how the internship can help solve an issue present in the community. My group’s PSA was cutting down CO2 emissions released by CCNY. We highlighted the health implications and how CO2 emissions are negatively effecting the people on our campus. After that we talked about how an organization called NYSERDA is an organization that specializes in cleaner energy use. After introducing the organization we touch on how they have internships for college students that help them learn more about cleaner energy, as well as getting connections in the industry, and gaining industry experience. This project helped us gain more skills in researching topics and citing sources properly. It also introduced us to how to properly make a PSA presentation that would be easy for passing by students to read an understand. This was an overall fun project to work on and help us become more well versed in the PSA and presentation genre.
